This information will only help owners in the United Kingdom.

The electric ariel on my 1992 Camry 2.2GL Estate got stuck half way
up because the plastic strip snapped responsible for moving the arial
up and down. The Toyota dealer here in England wanted £180.00 for a
new one.

I have found that a rear mounted arial from Halfords for a Vauxhall
Astra fitted really well. But the Vauxhall arial has a screw type
connector for the co-ax arial lead. The local scrap yard had a
Cavalier and I got the lead from this and used that to make a lead
conversion up.

The old electric arial was cut down and please back into the car and
used to support the free end of the new arial via plastic cable ties.
The use of silicon rubber makes sure that the new arial is water
tight. The original electric arial has a drain pipe to get rid of any
water getting into the arial, the new one does not.

The Toyota Camry is very rare in the United Kingdom, infact they sell
only about 600 cars a year across the whole country. Almost any parts
that are required must be ordered. This means that there must be less
then 2,000 cars ever sold which are Estate / Station Wagon.
