2007 Camry Le Tire Wear, another set of cheap tires

Has anyone else had this problem. I have 11,400 miles on the car and have had 2 front alignments and a tire rotation in that time. Today, the guy at the tire place told me I needed a new set of 4 times and that his friend, who also has a 2007 Camry, need a new set at 14,000 miles. These Firestones are rated for 50,000 miles but they absolutely stink. Why can't Toyota spend another few dollars and give us a better tire!!!

I sure do hate that for you. I know firestone tires suck - no way would I buy one. But when they come with your car, what are you going to do? It sounds like, though, if you're having to do all this maintenance, you'd be better off just replacing them with some new ones.

So if I am hearing you right both sets of tires are firestone which has a bad record. Firestone has been a crap tire for a long time since the 80ies. They bought Brigstone and that is a tire that also has a minimal life span. I have Michelin on my new Camry I was not thrilled about that even if they are high speed rated 18" The tire site www.1010tires.com has a list of tires on the start page if you click on the name brand logo and follow the links you will get customer posting about tire ware cars the tire was used on rain snow allot of info. The Firestone is a soft compound tire and like similar tires Dunlop and some others they ware crappy. The up side is they are usually fairly good gripping tires depending on tread design. I have had great luck with Bf Goodrich tires and the price is not to bad can be bought at Sams. One key to tire ware is a good not cheepo tire guage and run the tire at the tire manufactures pressure. The rating on the door is usually a comfort ride pressure which is not always good for ware. They sometimes use vehicle weight in the door sticker pressure but comfort is the big seller. The station guages can be off 7-12PSI no good buy a good guage like a race car team would use if it is a five dollar guage its crap.

I also am having a problem with tire wear on my 07 Camry. I am not getting any help from Bridgestone or Toyota, so I have filed a complaint with the state attorney general and NHSTA. I am also considering a class action lawsuit against Bridgestone because tires should last longer than one year!!

Could be bad tires, tie rods, shocks or other suspension parts.

I'd suggest on spending a little more and upgrade to either the Toyo Proxes 4 or T1-Rs. Stock tires aren't meant to last long. Do some google-ing on prices and you'd be quite surprise.

I have less than 5000 miles on my 07 Camry and I've noticed the front tires are in terrible shape. Barely passes the penny test. I'll check what tires I have in the morning.

I've had a beef with the tires for a long time the hub caps don't even stay centered.

I too have a 2007 Camry with failed Bridgestone tires. I had the car serviced at 15000 miles and the mechanic said that the front tires were worn down to the wear bars. From that point on I got a blasé
attitude from the dealer, a run around from Toyota and a CYA response from a Firestone dealer who wanted to give me a tire if I would pay approximately $220 for a second tire and an alignment.

Really, the reason that I joined this forum is that the message needs to get out. I'm a disgruntled Toyota owner and I feel certain that Toyota could care less about their customers and they really care less that you or I or any owner gets ripped off for hundreds of dollars. Toyota has turned out to be a big and rich corporation just like the phone company of old. Surely Toyota knows of this problem and Toyota is merely dumping on it's customers.

Went up to Toyo Proxes 4 and last longer than stock tires (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Let me know if you file a lawsuit; I have a 07 Camry Le and the P.O.S. tires need replacing after 17,000 miles - and they have been rotated every oil change. [5000 miles] (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Add me to that list. I have a 2007 Camry LE and just had my regular oil chg (every 5000 miles). I have 30,300 miles and have car serviced at dealer. I have Bridgestone Turanza EL-400's. I was told that my tires needed to be replaced. What happened to the 60,000 mile treadlife??????? I feel like I've been screwed............

I agree - my 2007 has 14,500 miles and 4 bald tires. I am furious. The deal is offering me 50% on 4 new tires - big deal - this shouldn't happen in the first place.

The same here. I only had 12,000 miles on my 2007 Camry Le and was told that I needed new tires. I have had them in once to the dealer and was told to come back in 3,000 miles and they will recheck. Doesn't sound like there is much hope.

I would be interested in joining a class action group as well. Please post if you have done so.

Thanks,

Are any of you going through with the lawsuit? If so, count me in. The Bridgestone Turanza's on my 07 camry are all worn down (32000 miles)

Hey Camrians,

I, too, have the exact same issue.

My tires are worn and almost bald at a young mileage of 27,000.

I'm not sure why it's getting used up to quickly.

It's hard to find replacement tires here without getting robbed by the dealerships or other tire vendors.
