At 1800 kms, the transmission failed and had to be replaced.
Would be interested in knowing who else had this problem and what Toyota did to satisfy the customer.

i bought a v6 xle and my transmission went out after 3000 miles. toyota replaced my transmission, made my first months payment, and upgaded my warranty to a 100,000 mile platinum warranty. what did they do to satisfy you?

Toyota really doesn't care if you have problem with your car. They are in business of making money. They have to repair defective parts while it is covered under manufacture guarantee period. After that 3 years, 36,000 miles/ 60k tranmission ect. expired, you are on your own unless you bought extended guarantee but there is a lot of hidden information that they won't cover. Just like sludge built up on the Camry, many people have no choice rather to purchase a new/old engine to be replace due to oil sludge. But base on consumer report, Toyota Camry is rank one of the most reliable car in the US.

Your imput I am sure will be of great value in evaluating this problem.

CR has since realized they should not have been recommending this car. If they'd been paying attention, they would have stopped recommending it much earlier than they did, since forum discussions made it clear there was a problem with the V6 transmission as much as a year ago.

We have a 2008 Camry V6. We've had nothing but problems with it. The first issue is after washing the car & it gets cold out (below 32), the vehicle will LOCK UP and you can't drive it.
Our latest issue is the transmission is "flaring/slipping" at 40 mph occasionally and there is a loud "clunk" heard and felt at 10 mph, mostly when the engine/trans is cold.

The dealership is giving us a huge run around. They are saying that the "clunk" is a normal sound of the ABS actuator.
It didn't start happening until 6000 miles.

We now find out there's lots of problems with the 2006 & 2007 transmissions.

I found the ID stamp on our transmission. Does anyone know where I can find out if our transmission is an earlier one like the 2006 and 2007s?

Has anyone else had similar problems.
