2009 Toyota Camry-2.4L-158HP-4CYL DOCH
Just bought this yesterday. Beautiful car. Barcelona Red Metal Flake. Actually wife's new ride. New to Toyota. I own a 93 Infiniti G20 & a 96 Nissan Pathfinder. Had a few questions I would appreciate answers to.

1- At what mileage should I have the factory fill engine oil changed?

2- I have always done overkill on oil and filter change. Will probably do this car the same way. Is it worth using the TRD Japan Style High Volume Oil Filter or OEM or K&N, Mobil 1 EP, Pure One or Amsoil EaO?

3- It calls for 5W20. Any real favorites in regards to oil brands? I will use synthetic. Local dealer uses Castrol. Not sure if in bulk or quarts. They have both dino and synthetic at the dealer.

4- Gas. States that regular will do. I've always used premium in all my vehicles. Dealer I purchased it from said regular is all they put in any car. Thoughts on which octane level of fuel will be appreciated.

Regards,
bill

I purchased the exact model and color for my wife also. We have had this car for a week.

1. 5000 miles.

2. My dealer told me the 2009 uses a special oil filter that has a valve that prevents engine oil from draining out of engine when not running. This filter is available only at a Toyota dealer.
You may want to check with your dealer to make sure this is true!

3. I use Mobil 1 synthetic, but that is a personal choice. Any name-brand oil that meets manufacturer's specs is sufficient, whether synthetic or not.

4. Using anything other than 87 Octane is a waste of money. There is no gain in engine performance or longevity.

Regards,
jim

1) Agreed. I change the oil and rotate the tires every 5,000 miles.

2) Toyota filter

3) Good oil is the key, Mobil 1 is a good one

4) Gas is delivered to all fuel depots through the same pipes. If it takes forever to fill your car, that means that the dealership filters are clogged, find a new station. Gas is gas, buy the cheapest.

Thanks for choosing a Camry for your wife.

1.) 3k for your first to allow the engine to break in properly. Then 5-7k is good intervals to change the oil depending on the type of driving you do.
2.) Mobil, Fram, Purolater, and many others sell filters for your car, unless you just want OEM parts.
3.) I use Mobil but oil is just a pref. but I can only rec. Mobil, Amsoil, or Royal Purple.
4.) Don't use anything but the regular in your Camry, it has been programmed to run on that and by putting in a higher octane the ECU will actually retard and you can stand to lose power not only that MPG. Don't waste money on any other performance enhancing products either, such as octane boosters, cleaners, etc. as these will harm many of the sensors that the camrys have in place to keep it running at peak performance.

Hope this helps you.

As I know, Camry is known for its reliability and excellent value for money. It looks classy but for me it is unappealing and has a very simple interior. There is a lot of good service in Orlando with dealerships that do precisely what you need. The individuals that work there know every little thing there is to learn about vehicles. They will help you choose one from the variety of automobiles they offer. A lot of people want the Toyota Camry. It is not too hard to find. As these automobiles are comfy and long lasting, they are the ideal family automobiles. Do you need assistance finding a Toyota Camry in Orlando? If so, go to:
