I just bought an LE with in-dash cd-player and tape deck. I want to take the head unit out to hook up my 6 cd changer, but I can't get the beauty ring off around the head unit and climate controls. Could someone let me know how to take it off or what it takes to hook up a cd changer to the stock head unit. The head unit even has cd changer controls built in, but I don't know what I would need to make these controls work the Alpine. Thanks

I think you just have to pull it off. There are six or so clips that hold it into place. You only need to use a screwdriver if you want to remove the A/C unit. I start taking mine off by loosening the bottom section first around the ash tray.

Just remove the ashtray stick both hands in the hole and pull the bottom away from the dash, once you pop the bottom off just work your way up till the whole piece is off, as for the CD controls on the factory radio you cannot use those buttons for an alpine CD changer those buttons are for the factory changer or factory in dash style CD player
