I bought a new '08 Camry and I'm disappointed with its stereo system.

The sound is dim and just not bright enough, or 'present' enough. My previous car was an '03 VW Passat, and that one had a Monsoon system, with excellent audio.

I talked to some of my friends that have an '07/08 Camry and they confirmed that Camry's standard audio system sucks, and that it's not just me. This is regardless of how you tune the Front/Rear Fader.

So, what are my options? Has anyone gone through the ordeal of replacing or upgrading a stereo system for a Camry? any advice?

I bought an '07 Camry XLE in August. I have recently been having all sorts of issues with the audio system as well. It started when the knob to switch between the bass, treble, etc. only temporarily worked. I assumed it was due to the cold weather; however, I took it in. The dealership reported that they could do nothing because there was no evidence that it was not functioning properly. Of course, it was working fine when I took it in.

Recently, on my drive home, I noticed that the CD player and some of the speakers were also acting up. I have the 6-disc CD changer, and, for some reason, the changer has not been working properly.

I will take it in over Spring Break.
