I'm still wondering if anyone knows whether
Toyota makes an electronic trunk release that can be
hooked up to an aftermarket alarm system. The standard
aftermarket electronic trunk relase for that purpose would
not fit on my Gen 3 Camry (lack of space on the trunk
lid). Anyone had the same problem? Any solution? Thank
you!

I don't know much about gen 3 but even the gen 4 didn't have a factory remote
trunk release. And the aftermarket would cost a couple hundred. I am sure there
is someone that makes one for the gen3.

Can you please ask if that part will work for a 95? Thanks.

When I had my new Viper alarm put in my installer said I could have a trunk
release acutator put in. He said it would be no problem. Check out the Wiz in
NYC.

Thanks for the info. I already had one put in.
Unfortunately, it is not totally integrated to the existing
system. 50% of the time, when I pop the trunk with the
car still armed, the volting sensing function of the
alarm would be triggered since the light in the trunk
comes on. But I don't get why this only happens half
the time. Some explanations are the alarm was
actually picking the vibrations from the mechanism, or
that the light is a very small voltage which may or
may not trigger the alarm. Whatever it is, I disabled
the voltage sensing function and the alarm is not
triggered anymore. Anyone else had experienced this?
