One thing that is somewhat uncomfortable in the '07 Camry is the armrest on the door. It is really hard. The hand grip on the door is also very rough on the underside and feels bad when you use it. Anyone else noticing this?

My mother-in-law actually has a similar complaint! She hasn't figured out a solution for the arm rest, but for the handgrip, she wrapped one of those velcro headbands around it. It was a simple soft headband, the kind you use to hold hair back to wash your face, the velcro made it easy to use.

I am so glad you posted this! My older aunt just bought a 2007 Camry, and she had the same complaint!
She has been trying to fashion something out of material and velcro, but it hasn't worked well. As for the armrest, she has just been folding up a teatowel. But, it shifts and falls off. You'd think this would be something that Toyota would have noticed! |

Thank you both for your replies. I'm glad we aren't the only ones noticing this problem with the armrests. I know a tea towel would help a little but can imagine that it does shift around and become a problem in itself.
Maybe if enough of us complain about this feature they will recall the armrest! (just kidding) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

Hey Ozzie, stranger things have happened! Maybe they'll have so many complaints they'll feel obligated to find a solution.

You would think that they would have checked it closer. maybe Toyota will correct the problem if enough people complain

I've noticed it in a couple of cars I've driven, but even worse is a Subaru ...for those prices you'd think the interior would be just a little nicer.

I know a hard armrest would really upset me. You would think they would have better quality control and make sure they were softer

IN thinking about this, I think the solution (rather than getting a new car lol) is to cut and fit a piece of sheepskin on the armrest. Might just work!

Wow, that is a bummer! Maybe over time it will soften up some, is there anyway to adjust it? Sorry I am not totally familiar with the 07. Could it be that it is too high rather than too hard?

Gigi,
I hadn't thought of that. Do you really think that it just being to high could cause that? |
