I have a 89 Camry and have been battling starting problems for the past 8 months. When I turn the key, it just kinda clicks but not a battery problem. Rumor had it that the solenoid was bad so I replaced it (and the starter too, as they are one unit). That worked well for about a week. So far, in the past 8 months, all I have to do is keep fiddling with it, trying to start it, and eventually it catches. Only twice now has it failed to start all (including this morning).
I have heard that this may be a "Toyota disease?" It seems that the battery and cables are fine, as well as the terminals. The battery is strong (it withstood 15 minutes of "clicks" this morning! I am not a mechanic, by any means, but since I have heard this may be a common problem...
Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Thanx!!!
