Here's a slightly crazy idea. I'd like to get a Lexus...but make it look like a Toyota so as to be more inconspicuous. Ignoring the fact that the body in the middle will be a little different-looking, does anyone know whether it would be possible to change out the fenders and lights so as to make a credible-looking Camry out of an ES or an Avalon out of an LS? I'd also like to change out the grille and trunk emblems, logos on the wheels, etc. The interior details can stay, that's fine. Assume that cost is no object and I can obtain all the parts needed. How easy would it be to do this and make it look factory, at least to the casual observer?

What??? Why go to all that trouble? Just buy a top trimmed Toyota.

To me the Lexus is really a top trimmed Avalon or Camry XLE. When I bought my car new two weeks ago the finance guy told me that what I basically have is a Lexus in a Camry body.

You might as well just spend the extra money and buy a car that you don't need to do all that work to to make it look the way you want. That's my 2 cents (IMG:style_emoticons/default/gunsmilie.gif)
