Bacially I'm looking for some performance struts
at a really good price. New or if someone has some
good ones to sell it doesn't matter. Just wanna know
what I should and shouldn't get and how much I should
be paying for them. thanks

KYB struts are the OE manufacturer. Go to
www.shox.com.

Koni are adjustable and cost an arm and a
leg.

If you have a 1997+ Camry, Bilstein available from
the dealership, or places like www.toyotaparts4u.com,
etc.

tan

I have a 98 so does that mean I really need new
struts or should the OE ones be sufficient. I don't plan
on racing or worrying about the performance too
much

When you add stiffer springs....new struts for the OE's are inevitable. The
aftermarket KYB's are 15% stiffer than the OE's, and they handle up to a 1.5"
drop. OE's don't know.

tan

situation....did you buy KYB GR-2 for ur camry? if so how did you
get the fronts in? I thought they were under
development? Cause i have only the rear. im dropping mine with
eibach, how well does your strut handle your lowered
springs??Im praying that the struts i have are better or
stiffer then OEM.

Actually today I just ordered some Tokicos to go
with my intrax springs. Since the intrax springs drop
it 1.5" it does need a stiffer strut than oem or
else I will bottom out on my rims. Tokico seem to be
the prefered for our cars as far as I can see when I
ask around. I'm not sure if the OEM struts are KYB or
even how good they are so I can't help u there but if
they are I will sell them and recoup some money.
Generally everyone said buy new struts if you want to do it
the right way so if the ones you bought are
performance and capable of taking up to 1.2" drop you are
giving it them you should have no problems. As for the
stock ones--I don't know if they can handle it but
generally they don't perform well when lowered.
Otherwise--I'll let you know how my car is handling when I get
them on. I can't wait
