I bought that Camery 2 days ago, still doesn't have it....but already don't like it.....I did the test drive yesterday....yes I no...bought the car first and test drive the day after.

I really don't like the take off of that car.....doesn't response when you press hard on the pedal gas.....no way for the tire to srcream...not that I want to...but would really like to have power on the take off.

Love this car. Couldn't have asked for a better and more refined vehicle. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer.gif)

I just drove a 2007 SE, and really enjoyed it.

I agree that initial throttle response is dull, but the power builds quickly, and very smoothly.

I just mentioned this article somewhere else,

http://auto.consumerguide.com/Articles/ind...SEDAN_COMP.html

but, it compares the throttle response of the 2007 Camry (SE, incidentally) to the current Accord V6.

To your point, the Accord was lauded for better tip-in response and throttle action, despite being significantly down on power compared to the Camry.

New to the site. Just bought a 2007 LE 2.4 last weekend, for the wife. Never owned a Toyota, much less driven a Camry. I must say, so far very pleased. And that's coming from a 2003 Tahoe. We'll see how I like it in the future, but the test drive really sold me.

Do you feel the 4-cyl is enough?

Do you feel the 4-cyl is enough?

Sorry for taking so long to revisit.

To be honest, not really. I thought I wouldn't be able to tell at first, but after having it for a little while I can see where I would have liked the V6 better. I'd say 75% of the time it's adequate. It's that 25% of the time when you need the extra "oomph" that reality sets in that it just isn't there. I don't know, maybe a K&N & synthetic oil will help. I plan on adding these in the future.

On the plus side, it gets way better MPG than the '03 Tahoe did! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/s12.gif)

A camry naturally isnt going to have that much power but you can get quick response upgrades though.

A Camry has decent response nothing overwhelming, but again I guess it really wasn't going after that. Toyota has always been known for their long lasting value and the Camry continues to sell very well.

You really should have test drove the 4-cyl against the V6 first. The V6/6-speed combo in the 07's are just simply amazing. fantastic power, fuel economy comparable to the 4cyl, less NVH...

My BF bought a new Camry, 2007, without testdriving. He ordered it and it came it and he was very very happy with it! I dont think you have anything to be worried about!

What's going on? Another old topic being dug up!

Anyway, I have the 4 cylinder Camry and I think it has enough power for me at least. I am sure the V6 is even more powerful.

The SE is a very good model to have. It's hard to come by in the past but I heard from someone else that it is now easy to get one now.
