Our Retirement Car

My husband and I are recently retired. We needed to purchase a car that was going to last us quite a long time. He did a lot of research and decided we needed to buy a Toyota. I was surprised because just about every car we've ever had was a Ford. His dad was an employee of a Ford Dealership for many years. We've never had a Toyota before.

We looked and test drove all kinds of cars to be sure a Toyota would suit our needs in addition to the need for it to last a long time. We bought our 2007 Camry in May and I just love it! There are of course a few things that we might have preferred to be different but overall, I believe it's going to be the best car we've ever had.

We purchased the LE model but had leather seats and heated lumbar installed for our comfort since we are senior citizens. I have a bit of back trouble so the heated lumbar is just the thing for a lengthy trip. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

How cool! I didn't know you could have heated seats. I bet that really helps. Does it make you sleepy?

No, it hasn't made me sleepy at all. I'm usually the passenger and since I have back problems anyway, I really benefit from the heat. It feels better than using a heating pad at home. I think it is because you can adjust the lumbar support to fit right into the curve of your lower back.

I am SO excited for you! I love our Camry, though it is an older model. I bet those heated seats with lumbar support must be heavenly.

Isn't the Camry SO quiet? I swear, you don't even know it is running!

Welcome to the 'other side'... once you've driven a Toyota, you won't go back!

What did we do without heated seats???? I love them. I live in a cold climate and they make such a difference that I won't have a car without them now. Remote starters are my next fave thing lol.

LOL ...it's true. When you get used to those two extras, you never want a car without them.
I have an older dog who definitely appreciates his heated seat too!
