Has anyone had experience removing an OEM rear spoiler? I removed
the trunk lid liner, which gave me access to the three 8mm nuts to
remove. There are only those three nuts holding it on; at least
that's how it looks. But when I try to remove the spoiler, it looks
like it is stuck on the trunk lid. Is there an adhesive/sealant of
some sort that has to be cut/pried off? Or are there clips that I
just don't see? I don't want to damage anything by just using brute
force. I have done that in the past with mixed results.
The reason that I want to remove it is that there are some serious
rust spots developing under one side of one of the mount points. I
want to sand and repaint it and then put the same spoiler on. Also,
I do not want to drive without the spoiler on it since it is my only
third brake light on the car. I do not have one on the inside rear
deck because the spoiler came with the car and has the LEDs built
in. Any help or suggestions would be great.
Thanks
JC
