I recently purchased a 2008 Camry Hybrid from Enterprise Car Rental with 14,000 miles. The car pulls to the right so I had it aligned. This didn't correct the problem so I had the tires rotated and then had it aligned again. It still didn't correct the problem.
I own four cars besides the Camry and I drive five cars out of a motor pool at work. I drive the same roads in all of these other vehicles and none of them pull to the right like the Camry does. The problem is therefore not the grade on the road. I've read on-line that other Camry owners have experienced a problem with their Camry’s pulling either to the left or right over many years. Has anyone heard of a fix to this problem? |

Sorry but i don't have an answer to your problem but i have experienced the same problem.
The camrys that i have driven have all had a tendency to want to run with the camber of the road, this may be fwd related, i don't know. My 2000 V6 camry has had problem of excessive pulling to the left even when on a road with a slight right camber. Over here we drive on the left side of the road so pulling to the right would be like pulling to the left here. I have had 4 alignments on mine, new tyres, rotations with still no joy. My suspicion is that the specs used by aligners are not the same as those used by the factory. This would be odd, but I had it happen with a mazda i owned before. The problems with that was fixed when i compared the alignment specialists machines specs with those that i had obtained from Mazda. An alignment on the Mazda to the facory specs and it steered perfectly. It is a known fact that you can go to 6 different aligners and every one says that there is some adjustment needed... that is how accurate these things are (not). Regular calibration is needed on alignment equipment and you are none the wiser as to how well they have been maintained. Usually over here (Australia) the attitude with such things is "close enough is good enough". A good alignment mechanic who takes an interest in what he is being paid for would correct the fault for sure, finding one is the problem. With my fantastic 2000 Camry V6 that is still running like new (mostly because i service it myself) it is the only fault it has ever had so i have decided to live with it, afterall, it could be worse. |
