Just thought I'd pass on that I had my timing belt replaced for $199.00. Thought that was a good price. I was well over due, I have 76k miles on a 94 camry xle v-6. Manufactured suggested replacement is every 60k miles. So if your due you just may want to take care of that because it would be a serious manitenance bill if that timing belt goes. Just a little info.
HENRY

Damn...$199, where did you get it done at (in in the Baltimore area also)...and did that include the accesory belt also. My 88 V6 timing/accesory belt change cost me $299 (then a 10% discount). Please don't tell me Brown's Toyota (of Glen Burnie), cause I really hate them with a passion.

tan

Jerry's Toyota in Baltimore replaced my timing belt. All other belts were still fine. Tan what problem did you have with Brown's. I've never had them do any work for me in the past.
'HENRY 94 xle v6

1. Bought a case of filters for my v6, it turns out they gave me filters for 4 cyl cars. I gave those filters to my parents (94 Corolla)

2. Coolant change.
$49.99 for drain and refill (I had the green stuff). I asked for a flush, got charged another $10 (even though the owners manual specifically said to flush your engine when changing the coolant). So I paid 60 bucks for a drain and refill only. They did not change the overflow reservoir (still green), radiator cap still green, the neck still green. The techician said "coolant contaminated", but felt flushing was not necessary, so did not flush at my request (I watched him not do it). The service manager didn't care, nor the rest of the dealership. So I bought a bottle of coolant, drained the overflow tank and cleaned it, and refilled it, and cleaned out my radiator cap myself.

After those incidents, I highly advise not to go there.

I like going to either Jerry's or Bill Kidd's for parts and service.

tan
