They also carried a V6 Manual Transmission in the 1997 and 1998 CE V6
models. The problem lies in the fact that almost every Camry seems
to be an LE or XLE model, which I know in Gen 3 and 4 only had
Automatic transmissions(I think that they still work that way), so
you were forced to get the DX(Gen 3 1992-1996), which in Gen 4 was
called the CE. I beliee that trim line has since been dropped, and
the LE is the entry level for 2002.

No, the only offered a manual transmission on the SE edition but it

Thanks for the clarification. You are correct about the 1992 and
1993 SE V6 with manuals(I knew that the DX came with a manual,
however it was only a 4 cyl-my bad..too much Halloween candy in my
system), but I still think that I was correct about the 1997 and 1998
CE V6 Manuals. That's if the Edmund's info below is correct. It
looks correct for the 1992 and 1993 SEs, so I figured it was correct
for the CEs that I mentioned. But of course, I am far from being an
expert. They seem to change at least one model/trim
line/transmission every couple of years, making certain ones only
available in prior years. Just like they did with the coupes and
wagons when they dropped them from their lineup until the Solara came
out to replace the coupe. I would love to find a mint 1993 SE V6
with manual. I've only seen two so far. No one seems to want to
sell them.

Please let me know if I am wrong. I hate passing along bad
information and I appreciate knowing the truth.

I've saw a 1992 V6 manual on eBay, I almost shit my pants, and it was
a good price, but didn't know how good of condition it was in. I
don't think anybody here would mind have a 1993 V6 manual, unless the
can afford a Solara V6 manual :P
