The 1MZ-FE V6 found in 94-96 Camry is different from the 97 and up versions. The ecu is not a plug and play item. You have to take into consideration that the EBC for the S/C will not be compatible with the ECU and various other components of the older 1MZ-FE. The newer 1MZs have various components that are revised and updated. Put a 94-96 Camry 1MZ-FE and a newer one and parts like the vacuum, sensors, relays, EGR, ignition, and other parts are not compatible. Go ahead and slap the S/C in but you are gonna run into clearance problems with the S/C pulley belt. No one has put the S/C in the gen3 1MZ-FE. The S/C isn't compatible with it.

Good Luck!
NewCamryPerformanceSite - Co-Founder
Southern California Camry Club - Founder
www.teamsc3.com

AHHHH MANN!!!!! Nooooo. I am dyin' to put a S/C in my '96 V6 camry too......Maybe we can get enough people to propose to TRD to modify their s/c's to fit the 3rd gen camry's? I've also heard that the newer S/C's from trd are revised versions, as in better construction to eliminate leakage....and.....IT SITS LOWER! A friend of mine has told me that a toyota club that he is in, someone has put a V6 camry engine in a tercel, and then added a S/C to it...although i am still waiting to see that for myself. I'm sure many people would be verry happy, along with myself if S/C's were to fit in 3rd gen camrys. Someone got connections in TRD, or Rod Millen?

You may hear rumors, but is it even running? Anyways, by the time you spend all the money to get the S/C to fit and work, you've spent way more than what your car is worth. But anyways, there is an MR2 in atlanta that does have pics of their MR2 with a 1MZ-FE and S/C fitted, but they never have given any real news of it running on the track or even running properly. Go ahead and put the S/C in your car, but trust me it wont work. The system will not recognize the boost. I have talked with TRD reps (Actual TRD Reps from the Tustin facility) right before it was released and they told me it's the ECU. Rod Millen won't waste time on it, they are doing bigger projects like the GS400 S/C or was it Turbo and an IS300 Turbo.

BTW, it's not a matter of modifying the S/C to fit in the Gen3, it's a matter of how your tranny, computers, sensors and relays are gonna work with the S/C.

Good Luck!
