I have a 93 Camry with 250,000+ miles on it. About 2 months ago there started to be some kind of build-up on the windows that looks like smoke but feels kinda greasy. I was told that it was probably the heater core, I had that replaced but it still comes on the windows. Anyone have an idea what this could be?

I also found similar thing on my 89 Camry LE.
I don't know what it is.
Right now I just set the air door always open to keep outside fresh air pumping into my car and clean my windshield every 3 week.

David

I've got a 96 DX. I remember reading somewhere that the buildup on the front wishshield can come from fumes from the plastics used in the dash board. There's really know way to keep it from happening. I don't smoke and I get a build up on my windshield too. All I can do is clean my windows. You gotta remember, when you ride around with the vents open, fresh air carries stuff with it (dust, pollen and stuff like that) that can build up on the windshield.

Hi,
Maybe you are right. I don't know where the built comes from inside my car or outside bad air.
But keeping the vent open made me feel better.
The point is I don't have good ways to stop the build up.

David

Just be glad you're not a smoker. It would be worse! LOL
