what would u guys recommend for a good muffler or exhaust system? i need one that's really quiet most of the time, and produces a deep (but not loud) growl only when i really step on it. this is for a '94 4-cyl. i have an existing aftermarket muffler, but it's not quiet enough. at low rpm speeds it makes a constant buzzing sound, which is really beginning to annoy me. not only that, the overall sound is kinda high-pitched than most other mufflers, which makes it sound kinda cheap. i've looked around for exhaust systems made for this car, but the only ones i can find are from brospeed and brueller (which are both cat-backs). if anyone has either these, can u tell me how it sounds during low and high rpm speeds? a custom setup would be nice too, but i wouldn't pay anything over $400. please share your views/advice about this, thanks.

Why not try the TRD exhaust system?

how does the trd one sound? i've also know that trd charges sky-high prices for its products, so it's probably out of the question for me. i could probably get a whole catback system with the same money i spend on a trd muffler+tip.

you gotta know that cheap mufflers will give you cheap sound. The TRD of course is a more expensive version of the Borla one. I seen them both. They look identical except for the TRD logo. I got my Borla for 260. You can see a picture of it in the gallery. Don't go cheap or people will hear it...

In neutral, I can't hear a thing. It's as quite as the car first arrived in my hands. In 3-4 thousand rpm, the roaring is heard. I love it. You're the same kinda person I am. I don't want the sound to bug me all day, yet, when I want it, I hear it by hitting it hard. You can always change tips on any muffler. Where do you live? Maybe you should ask someone that lives near you to let you listen to it.
