i took out my stock filter box in my 93 2.2 liter 4 cyl and i put on my cone filter on the stock tubing, but there is a second opening on the other end that the stock filter box fit into besides the tube, it's right next to the battery. Is it safe just to leave this opening alone or do i need to do something with it, i'm guessin it leads to the outside to take in air so if i left it open wouldn't dirt and dust fly into the engine?
